DAY 1 : ARRIVAL TO VILLAHERMOSA

DAY 2 : YAXCHILAN & BONAMPAK



Very early in the morinung, we’ll drive from Palenque to the river Usumacinta where we’ll jump in a boat and navigate in between the borders of Mexico and Guatemala until we find the hidden city of Yaxchilan. Yaxchilan is known for the large quantity of excellent sculpture at the site, such as the monolithic carved stelas and the narrative stone reliefs carved on lintels spanning the temple doorways.

After a lunch by the Usumacinta river, on our way back to Palenque, we’ll stop a Bonampak, drive through the think jungle, climb the main pyramid and take a look at the famous Temple of the Paintings.

All the area of the Usumacinta is filled with rivers and falls. We’ll visit one of the most popular falls called Misol Ha, just to relax and take swim.

DAY 3 : PALENQUE & MISOL HA



Palenque is a medium size archeological site but with extensive detail, worth to spend many hours and admire its art and architecture. Our visit includes main temples (Temple of the cross, the Palace, Temple of the incriptions), monuments, jungle walk through the preclassic Palenque, relax and free time in the gardens, museum and souvenirs shop.

Campeche is situated on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico and it is surrounded by fortresses in defense of the pirate attacks of the 17th century. This beautiful city is considered Patrimony of Humanity by the UNESCO. We’ll drive around the main avenues and look at the architecture, have some free time to spend in the downtown area and simply breathe the air of this historic Mexican city.

DAY 4 : CALAKMUL



We´ll leave at dawn to the archeological site of Calakmul, located inside the Biosphere Reserve, shelter of the biggest predators in America: the Jaguar. This hour of the day is the perfect moment to watch the wild life of this natural reserve. This site is seldom visited and perfect for bird watching and wildlife encounters, such as monkeys, tucans and much more. Calakmul is one of the largest mayan cities and is constantly under archeological study, restoration and excavation.

This visits lasts about 5 hours with brief lunch included.

DAY 5 : KOHUNLICH, MAYAN COMMUNITIES & BACALAR



Today we visit the maya communities where the people still live in their traditional houses with palm roofs and wooden walls and the maya still is their natural language. Interact with the locals and appreciate the handcrafts they being doing for generations.

Visit the ancient maya city of Dzibanché where the tranquility gives shelter to large groups of "howler monkeys" and "spider monkeys" and many exotic birds that live in their natural habitat. Climb the pyramid and admire the flora and fauna. We´ll continue to the Biosphere of Calakmul where comfortable ecovillas await us.

Kohunlich covers about 21 acres, surrounded by dense sub-tropical rainforest, and it contains almost 200 mounds, that remain largely unexcavated. The city was elaborately planned and engineered, with raised platforms and pyramids, citadels, courtyards and plazas surrounded with palace platforms, all laid out to channel drainage into a system of cisterns and an enormous reservoir to collect rainwater.

We’ll continue our way north of the peninsula and check-in eco-cabins by the 7 colour lagoon of Bacalar. We’ll have the option to do a night paddle under the stars.

DAY 6 : SIAN KAAN & MUYIL



Sian Ka’an is one of the most important natural reserves in Mexico. With more than 500,000 Ha. of wetlands and jungle. On arrival, we´ll jump on a motor boat and navigate through natural springs and mangrove canals with lunch included. Jump into the water and float through the light current.

In our boat ride, we will be searching the marine and jungle fauna: turtles, dolphins, manta rays, exotic birds and more. Jungle hike to the Maya ruins of Muyil.

DAY 7 : TULUM & PLAYA DEL CARMEN



Tulum is one of best places to be in the Mexican Caribbean. We will have some free time to spend at the beach before we go visit the beautiful ancient city. Tulum was one of the few remaining mayan cities at the arrival of the first Europeans. Being built on the coast gives an impressive view and majesty to Tulum, and the main reason for its popularity.

After our archeological visit, we’ll check-in a hotel in Playa del Carmen. In the evening, hang around the town of Playa del Carmen. Walk along the 5th avenue with folkloric and bustling restaurant-bars, boutiques and handcraft shops.
