DAY 1 : ARRIVAL TO CANCUN



Pick up at Cancun┬┤s international airport and transfer to hotel with a welcome cocktail with the staff and guides of We Go Mexico! for a full briefing of our expedition.
We┬┤ll have the rest of the day to hang around Cancun area.

DAY 2 : ROUTE OF WAR CASTES & BACALAR



Today we┬┤ll take the road to our next destination at the Bacalar Lagoon,on the way, travel through History and Culture of the Maya, explore the main fortress of the mayas during the War of Classes, which capital was Chan Santa Cruz, considered now as the Mayan Independent State.

Visit the Sanctuary of the "Talking Cross" and learn about its mysteries and legends.

Visit the old Mayan town of Tihosuco, conquered in 1544 by Francisco de Montejo, where the franciscan monks built up an impressive convent now half destroyed by the war. Visit the museum of the War of Classes.

Enjoy a delicious regional lunch, and continue south to the lagoon of Bacalar, well know as "The 7 Colours Lagoon" to our ecological cabins at the lagoon shore.

DAY 3 : KAYAKING ADVENTURE CAMPING



After an early breakfast, we┬┤ll start our kayaking activities starting at the northwestern side of the Lagoon of Bacalar, kayak through the mangroves where you can discover waterfowl and raptors like the various herons and egrets, cormorants as well as ospreys and black hawks, and with a bit of luck, look at tapirs or crocodiles, toucans and spider monkeys in the lush vegetation of the shore. Well have some lunch in the kayak route.

We┬┤ll get to our first campsite at the lagoon shore in Buena Vista.

DAY 4 : KAYAKING ADVENTURE CAMPING



Goat Island is our rest stop for lunch on this day, where we walk around the island on a jungle path before we head to our campground Frederico┬┤s Laguna Azul in Pedro Santos, an area that is also called home for river otters. In the evening we will do 2 hours of sunset paddling by going to the north end of the lake and entering a small narrow river covered by sea lilies and surrounded by mangroves, where you encounter bats, roosting in the mangroves and flying low over the water and you might see a moorhen climbing through the mangrove branches. When returning to the campground delicious homemade dinner is waiting for you.

DAY 5 : KAYAKING ADVENTURE CAMPING



After a hearty breakfast we continue our journey kayaking southeast, leaving Laguna Bacalar and kayak into the vast swamp area between Laguna Bacalar and Laguna Chile Verde following tiny creeks and channels where lining sometimes is necessary, depending on the water level.

OIn this area live spotted Jabirus, Reddish Egret, Boat Billed Heron and White Ibis.

We float about 4 hours with the current until the mangroves open up and we enter Laguna Chile Verde. From here we paddle until we reach our next jungle camp. After dinner you may join the guide for a night walk to look for the creatures of the night like owls, foxes, anteaters or armadillos.

DAY 6 : KAYAKING ADVENTURE & TULUM



Today is a shorter day of paddling but with some excitement since Laguna Chile Verde narrows into the river Raudales, where you encounter some tight bends and rapids before reaching Laguna Guerrero, which is part of the Southern Quintana Roo Manatee Reserve. Around lunchtime we reach our next destination, Daniel the Manatee that was found by some kids as a lonely baby. Today he lives in his own large corral and a local family lovingly takes care of him.

Learn more about this endangered mammal and have the opportunity for closer contact by feeding or even to swim with him. After this exquisite experience and lunch we will pack up to take the road to our next destination: Tulum.

DAY 7 : TULUM, CENOTES & PLAYA DEL CARMEN



Visit the archaeological Mayan City of Tulum, observe one of the most fantastic views of the Caribbean Coast.

Swim in the Crystal Clear Waters of a Beautiful "Cenote" and live one of the best tours with the highlights of the Mexican Caribbean and the Riviera Maya.

We┬┤ll head to Playa del Carmen, the Heart of the Riviera Maya to spend the night with a special dinner and toast in the "Quinta Avenida".
Breakfast at our hotel and free time until departure to the airport. Transfer to airport.
